2013 might have been my most eventful year of life. Graduated from college, directed two shows, started mentoring FIRST robotics again, designed lights for my first full production, broke records for number of events I DJ’d, made lots of new friends, turned twenty three, and decided that I want to start my own theatre troupe. I would like to thank all my family and friends for their continued love and support through everything, and I cannot wait for what 2014 is going to bring!
Back in the middle of the summer, I set ten goals that I hoped to accomplish before the end of year. How about we score goal out of ten and see how I did!
1) Revise an old play – mission accomplished – 10 points
2 Write a new play – got about 20% of a new one done – 2 points
3 Script a comic book – I wrote an outline… let’s give that a point. – 1 point
4. Read 20 plays – Finished 11 – 5.5 points
5. Lose 10 pounds – Didn’t really lose the weight, but I am in a lot better shape. Let’s split the difference – 5
6. Get website up and running – Well, this is on my website – 10 points
7. Headshots, business cards, revise resume. Yes, yes and yes! – 10 points
8. See 10 plays. Saw 12, so let’s give that extra points – 12 points
9. Read 5 text books. Read 4. – 8 points
10. Organize “Theatre Bible” (a collection of all my notes from all theatre classes and projects) – Yep. Didn’t get to this. – 0 points
So let’s total that up. Thats 63.5 out of 100. Maybe I was being a little ambitious with how much I thought I’d get done in my spare time over the past 5 months, but even with that low of a percentage, I’m happy with what I got done. I’ll spend the next week or so mulling over what I want to set for my ten goals to accomplish before July.
Happy new year everyone. 2014 (or as I’m calling it, “Year Zero”) is going to be amazing!
